As mujeres of the University of California, Riverside
campus, we strive for the betterment of la RAZA!
We realize the importance of unity amongst ourselves and
strive to maintain positive interaction with other
organizations.
While empowerment of la mujer at UCR is
a main goal, we are also concerned with educational,
social and economic issues within our communities.
As a woman's organization, we welcome all individuals who
agree with our goals and objectives and who are willing
to fight for la causa.
As educated mujeres we realize the
responsibility we have to our hermanas y hermanos to
provide support, open and educate minds, maintain la
cultura and those traditions that do not oppress us.

The Mujeres Unidas organization first started out as
an activist group, which was a branch of Movimiento
Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (M.E.Ch.A) and was
originally called "Las Chicanitas."
In the year 1992 Mujeres Unidas (MU) was officially established
at the University of California Riverside (UCR).
Over the years lot of new ideas and ways to help Mujeres have
come about.
As you may have noticed, Mujeres Unidas are known for
our two colors: yellow and green.
Yellow represents: sunshine, happiness,
joy, cheerful, friendship and is used to welcome.
Green represents: life, growth, renewal, health, and
environment.
